Duties & Responsibilities:
• Transcribe audio tapes and carry out a first edit of parliamentary debates in line with laid down Hansard editing guidelines
• Do verification/clarification of MPs' speeches
• Collaborate the Members' log with transcripts to confirm accuracy
• Send transcripts for 2nd edit to the Senior Assistant Editor of Hansard
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
• The applicant should posses an Honours Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication, Journalism and Communication; or Arts with Literature and English Language Studies (ELS) studied as subjects, or Arts with Education, majoring in Literature and English Language Studies (ELS) from a recognized University/Institution
• Proficiency in transcribing and editing
• Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work as a member of a team
• Good eye for detail
