Job Title: Program Focus Area Coordinator Just and Democratic Governance

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Coordinate the development, implementation and report on the performance of Just and Democratic Governance thematic plans and budgets in accordance with Country Strategic Paper and organisational policies.
• Contribute to resource mobilisation for the Just and Democratic theme identify funding priorities/gaps in line with the thematic strategy and Country strategic Paper (CSP)
• Develop program focus strategies for guiding planning, implementation, communication and provide support to respective units in line with the CSP IV and organizational Policies
• Monitor programmes, communicate and consolidate reports and submit to relevant stakeholders in line with the organizational accountability systems' requirements
• Provide technical support and strengthen the capacity of staff and partners for quality programming in line with CSP IV and organizational Policies
• Conduct contextual analysis, research and analyze policies for generation of evidence for policy advocacy and campaigns in line with the CSP
• Engage in, and coordinate local, national and international policy advocacy and campaign work in line with the CSP
• Mobilize, coordinate and support the building and strengthening networks, coalitions and alliances and relationships with other stakeholders at all levels (local, national, regional and international) in line with MU CSP
• Identify thematic and programme knowledge needs for the program and its partners, coordinate the generation, storage and access to knowledge in line with the MU Knowledge Management Strategy
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
• The applicant should hold a Bachelor's degree in Law, Political Science, humanities or any other related discipline.
• Relevant post graduate qualification and training in rights based approaches, human rights, democracy and governance is an added advantage.
• At least 3-4 years of relevant working experience from a recognized institution.
• Good knowledge of; Participatory democracy and governance approach, Planning and budgeting, Governance, Women rights, gender and poverty analysis, Monitoring and evaluation, Human rights and democracy, Civic education and empowerment, Conflict and Peace analysis/ Peace building skills, Knowledge of International Humanitarian Sector, Emergence assessment, deployment and response skills.
